Synopsis: A girl (Vanessa Paradis) tries to throw herself off a bridge, but is saved and subsequently enters a world of fantasy….

ReviewThe Girl on the Bridge amounts to little more than a glorified ninety-minute perfume ad or one of those showy short-films that have been nauseatingly dragged out to a feature-length format. The film employs an utterly transparent photogenic aesthetic that is subsumed into a sickly confection by the twee storyline of two misfit characters (one a suicidal innocent, the other a world-weary knife-thrower) who find love and fortune in a laboured and arcane narrative of adventure that throws up some of the most embarrassingly conceited witticisms about fate and destiny I’ve heard.
